Japanese Death Poems

You can find a collection of them here here.

I rather fancied this one from Kozan Ichikyo, who died February 12, 1360, at 77 :

Empty-handed I entered the world

Barefoot I leave it.

My coming, my going --

Two simple happenings

That got entangled.

I love poems. Some of the haiku form poems are also very poignant.

I cannot claim to love poetry, but I do like good imagery and a nice turn of phrase.
