My first name is Richard I am 42 I am married I have two children Ok, maybe that is a little too factual and not sufficiently revealing. Hye has invited me to put a message in a bottle. When I was younger, I used to dream of discovering something unique, import and of value. I did look for bottles with messages, buried treasure, fossils, or gold deposits. Sadly I never really found anything. I did find pyrite (Fools Gold), and some small fossils (various shells and parts of crinoids, but never trilobite. sigh. Though, Jason did find a fossilized shell 3 or 4 cm in length two years ago. Definitely, the largest fossil we have found). However, I have never thought of putting a message into a bottle. (The uber-geeky among you should recognize the phrase.)

Last week I invited people to participate in playing a meme for me. I was very happy with the responses. The responses far exceeded my expectations. I had expected them to, overall, be polite and pleasant, but I was I am not going to respond to each and every one of them (as I normally do), except to say a heartfelt thank you for all who played and gave such awesome responses. I will, however, pick one item from each and respond or comment on it: breal: Richard needs to (feels the need to) form some kind of conclusion/assign meaning to most things. Most definitely. There is a web site that allows you to upload an image of yourself and it will try to match you against images fo various famous people in its database. When I used my avatar image, I got pretty questionable results. Using a 20 year old image, I am not sure the results are much better, but I do see some resemblence with Demi Moore - who looks like she could be my mom (at least from this angle). I'm feeling in the mood for stone soup. If you've never had it, it is a most delicious soup, rich and nutritious. All you need are 3 smooth stones. You could use any stones, but I find smooth ones make a better soup than rough and jagged ones. Of course, I lack a pot in which to make the soup. Usually, there is someone who has a pot and we can start to make the soup. You just place the stones in the pot, add water and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for a bit and soon it is done. The most aromatic soup you have every tasted. Sometimes, someone might drop in a bone or a few scraps of meat they've found. These are not necessary, as the soup is quite fine without them, but it does help add an extra dimension to the flavour - not that is necessary with stone soup. Most of the time, I do not see my desktop because it is covered with applications (much like the way I don't see my physical desktop because it is covered with documents and other stuff). A few weeks back, breal invited me to participate in a musical meme . The rules are simple, list seven songs you are listening to now and why. In my case, I was not in a music listening mood at the time so I postponed it until I was. Although, in my case it is more like seven artists I am listening to. Why do I like these songs? Simple, they mess with my neurochemistry and make me feel good. It is not the lyrics or the music I enjoy, but the whole effect. For example, I like Tutti-Frutti by Little Richard, but when sung by Pat Boone, it is awful. Usually, I am tied into one particular version - for example Aretha Franklin does an excellent job with Chain of Fools, but so does Little Richard (he wrote it) - which is rare.
