I am going to take a bit of a hiatus from blogging. I will probably post on 22 or 26 January (mother's birth and death dates, respectively) as well as 18 February (my birthday).
I hope this break proves refreshing for you. I will look forward to your return but know that you are in my daily thoughts and that I am always sending best wishes your way.
I thought I am the only one not bloggng for a long while due to may workload. But it seems that many of my blogging friends have also stopped blogging. *sigh* I will miss them.
However, I will still blog about my devotion when I can.
Philippians 3: 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
There should be no guilt associated with not writing. When you have something to share, you will write. I will keep checking in to see when that happens!
Are you taking a break from reading too, or just writing?
tena: I've seen RSS links on other people's blogs, but never bothered investigating it. Nice to know that people can subscribe to mine without me having to register anywhere.
ingrid: I am not sure it is for pleasure, more for rest. A chance to refocus.
breal: I hope it refreshes me too. Thanks.
bee: you have probably noticed my blogging the past few months (since Summer), has had slowdowns, as have my visits and frequency of comments on other blogs. I think it is time for a little break. Sofia says I can be quite mercurial, so maybe I will be back in a week's time.
travis: thanks. I wasn't even aware that you were a regular reader. I know you visit from time to time. As the video says, I will be back (maybe I should have taken a clip of Arnold from The Terminator).
barbara: there is no guilt. I just want people to know that this is a deliberate stoppage and not that I have faded away (much as I have when going on an extended holiday). People blog at different rates. Some daily. Some multiple times per day. Others are infrequent. I tried for roughly daily (though, I seem to average something more along the lines of once every 3 days).
My reading slowed down significantly about 2 months ago. At the moment, I am reading The Road and The Opposite of Fate. Last week I finished Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar, and last night I read through two books on digital photography (one of them was quite good and addressed a number of things I have observed while taking pictures and scanning images).
I still intend to visit blogs, though it will be more in a lurking capacity. I will still comment, though not as frequently as before.
No idea when I will return - probably a few weeks.
toraa: thanks. I don't have a TV in Ottawa and I rarely have time to sit down and watch in Montreal (though I did watch The Transformers movie with JJ this weekend).
acey: thanks. I am fine. Just tired. Need a break. That doesn’t mean I won’t visit other blogs, but I might choose to lurk instead of comment.
ancilla: I didn’t notice breal had gone fishing too. I guess I need to visit more blogs.
hye: thanks for dropping by, hye (he he). I haven’t stopped blogging – just taking a break. As the title says: "I’m feeling a bit tired."
For the extra curious: I am enjoying the lull (although, the past few days I’ve been visiting other blogs).
I am tentatively working with a return date of 04-February-2008 – though nothing is set in stone (who knows, I may continue to be "tired").
Hmmm ... maybe I should make blogging my Lenten penance ...
Take a big break, then Richard :D Have fun while you're not blogging. Hope to hear more from you once you come back and blog again. Just inform me and I will visit your blog. I've bookmarked your page because I like you for being an opinionated person.
By the way, Congratulations for being a Certified Honest Blogger. Receive your award at Space of Reality.
Aloha Richard. Thought I would stop by and visit your blog. I see you are taking a break from blogging. Well, I will subscribe to your blog. Take care,
Yes....i took a break myself too, as I am sure you'd know. Just needed to stay away from the things I have to do, feel obligated to do, want to do. Those days I just feel like letting myself go and just do nothing, do other things, do different things.
But I am back and I am sure you will. The friends we made here - they are too valuable for words.
And knowing you are there - always brings me back to my blog. Always.

CBC Radio had a documentary on Singapore and its lack of risk taking yesterday (only just heard it this morning). Since I know there are 1 or 2 Singaporean readers of this blog, I am curious to know how accurate the documentary is. I find that people often have mistaken impressions about other cultures and people. You can hear it here .
I hadn't been to my dentist since May-2004 (normally I went on weekends, but since Sofia and the kids moved to Montreal, I am not in Ottawa on the weekends). Last night, as I was munching on some cashews, I felt a pain in one of my molars and then some grit in my mouth. I went and washed it out, assuming that maybe there had been a stone or something amount the cashews. Turns out I noticed a hole in the surface of the molar (top right, second from the back, my wisdom teeth were removed years ago). Fishing around for grit in my mouth, it looked like crumbled filling. So I assumed that my filling had cracked and crumbled and come out. Went to the dentist this morning, he took an x-ray and came back with bad news. I have a large cavity under the filling, which gave way. The filling did not fall out, but rather impacted into the space of the cavity. He did not rework the filling, since the cavity is very near the root - cleaning it out would likely result in exposing the root. As some

I know what you mean. It's a good time to take a break.
I have you on my RSS feed so I'll know when you post again.
Go rest and refresh.
See you later.
Very Sincerely,
