Happy Birthday!

Today Sofia celebrates an indeterminate age (as she has for the last many years ;-)

There are things I'd like to say
to you my love on your special day:

I am forever thankful God sent you my way.

Like a gift from up above,
you showed me how it is to feel real love.

I know many mountains we've had to climb
and sometimes forever has seemed like a very long time.

Yes, we've endured our share of pain,
but together we have so much to gain.

Bigger mountains may lie ahead,
but together there is no hill we can not tread.

So always remember my love for you,
and there is nothing together we can not do.

I'll be here forever - my love is true.
The person beside me, that would be you.

breal: yes, she has enriched my life. Thanks.

tena: most female friends I have are not sensitive about their age. Sofia and another are the only two I can think of that are.

dandan: thanks. Expressing affection is always difficult. The worst is to hope for affirmation and not to get it.

MOI: thanks. I think if you were married to me, you might have a different view. I am quite atypical and pose lots of challenges for Sofia.

Happy Belated Birthday Sofia! Richard- I can tell you are such a wonderful person and this comes through as your express your love to your wife. I hope to find someone one day that would feel the same for me. You both are so very lucky to have each other.

Why you should regularly visit your dentist.

I hadn't been to my dentist since May-2004 (normally I went on weekends, but since Sofia and the kids moved to Montreal, I am not in Ottawa on the weekends). Last night, as I was munching on some cashews, I felt a pain in one of my molars and then some grit in my mouth. I went and washed it out, assuming that maybe there had been a stone or something amount the cashews. Turns out I noticed a hole in the surface of the molar (top right, second from the back, my wisdom teeth were removed years ago). Fishing around for grit in my mouth, it looked like crumbled filling. So I assumed that my filling had cracked and crumbled and come out. Went to the dentist this morning, he took an x-ray and came back with bad news. I have a large cavity under the filling, which gave way. The filling did not fall out, but rather impacted into the space of the cavity. He did not rework the filling, since the cavity is very near the root - cleaning it out would likely result in exposing the root. As some
