How much is my life worth?

Apparently, according to this blogthing:

Your Life Is Worth...

$535,500

It would certainly be nice - in cash, of course. Don't know why the hands are chained up though. Seems a strange image to associate.

Is this only if you're dead, or can you collect in some way while you are living? I suppose we all think about this when we take out life insurance plans, probably never buying what would really be necessary to compensate for our loss.

Half a mil does not go far these days.

barbara: I have no idea how it is calculated (I doubt it is very scientific). On the other hand, it was a better than being valued at $1.27 ;-)

tin-tin: I often feel chained to my job - it is like a gilded cage - I can't break the salaray / benefits chain.

lunafish: it is a shame to admit so, but you are right. Might have to move somewhere where my dollar goes a little further.
Think Tin-Tin is right and in view of my post about being off work but getting less money being worth my better health, this sure rings true. Like those ads ....health? Priceless!

Your life is worth nothing if you're not alive! (well, not to yourself but maybe a few bucks to some lucky relatives!)

MOI: living for ourselves, for our families and our community is important, unfortunately it is hard to do when we are destitute. I feel very sorry for those who work long hours for miserable wages. There has to be a better way to live and work. Too often I find work is about keeping busy, not so much about actually producing useful stuff.

I'd like to think my life is worth more than that. Then again it would depend on who you asked.
