"Call me old fashioned, but if you really wanted peace couldn't you just stop fighting?

Lieutenent Cobb: "Only when we have the Source. It will give us the power to erase every stinking Hath off the face of this planet."

The Doctor: "Hang on. Hang on. A second ago it was peace in our time and now you're talking about genocide!"

Lieutenent Cobb: "For us, that means the same thing!"

Exchange between The Doctor and Lieutenant Cobb in the Doctor Who episode The Doctor's Daughter (exchange occurs around time 2:00).

kaymac: perhaps. Of course, peace is a lot more than just the absence of fighting. There must be peace in the heart as well. Love and tolerance and respect for all of God's creation. The moment anyone fails to see the Divine in anyone, then there is trouble.

travis: it is called "Birthing Machine" by H.R. Giger (they artist who designed the alien and alien ship for Alien).

Well everyone, could just stop fighting if they wanted [eace, but they don't like compromising. It's like saying: if politicians wanted to get thing done they would simply stop arguing, but they don't because they don't want to compromise either, nobody likes to compromise.

carra: respect and tolerance is needed as well as consuming only to one's need and, of course, learning to share and cooperate. The problem is that no one really wants to do that, the preference is to kill those who are too different and subjugate those who are not too different. The only peace is that of homogeneity.
