kaymac: Seneca and Marcus Aurelius have always been two of my favourite philosophers. The are both Stoic philosophers.

breal: I guess for the same reason we scrub so stubbornly at tough spot, because we feel more effort will get it clean.

vina: of course it means humanity ingeneral. Usually I will gender neutralize quotes, but, in this case, I was too lazy.
