I have 1 nephew who has a son about 8 wks old...and a niece that has a 8 months old. It's amazing how those little small lives can bring a family back together again...they are darlings!

locusx1y2: I also have two of my own. I love kids and wish I had more (maybe my career as a computer programmer is the wrong one).

I have six nieces and nephews myself, and I guess I should mention that I have two more step-nephews, too. So to be fair, I should say eight. You can imagine the Christmas's.

I so loved having the 5 nieces and 2 nephews I have since we couldn't have kids....I tried to be a great aunt though, and had fun doing that. Now they range in age from 17 to 27! How'd that happen so fast?

run around paris: the two of my own make Christmas hectic enough. I haven't been to Peru at Christmas yet - it would be nice to go once.

irredento urbanita: thanks! she is a very sweet kid (they all are) as the big "gringo" uncle I used to delight them by lifting them high over my head.

MOI: kids grow up too fast. Actually, life passes by too fast and it only gets faster as we get older. sigh.

ghee: I like to think of myself as a nice guy. Yes, she is cute as are all my nieces.

What a cutie.. All of my nieces and nephews are from my ex-husband's family but I'll always be their Auntie. =o) And I spoil them with noisy toys.. hehe

Why you should regularly visit your dentist.

I hadn't been to my dentist since May-2004 (normally I went on weekends, but since Sofia and the kids moved to Montreal, I am not in Ottawa on the weekends). Last night, as I was munching on some cashews, I felt a pain in one of my molars and then some grit in my mouth. I went and washed it out, assuming that maybe there had been a stone or something amount the cashews. Turns out I noticed a hole in the surface of the molar (top right, second from the back, my wisdom teeth were removed years ago). Fishing around for grit in my mouth, it looked like crumbled filling. So I assumed that my filling had cracked and crumbled and come out. Went to the dentist this morning, he took an x-ray and came back with bad news. I have a large cavity under the filling, which gave way. The filling did not fall out, but rather impacted into the space of the cavity. He did not rework the filling, since the cavity is very near the root - cleaning it out would likely result in exposing the root. As some
